lighthearted Posted August 26, 2011 Report Share Posted August 26, 2011 I was just looking at Don's post regarding his shop fire and was curious how many hobbyists have fire cabinets for all their flammable paints supplies? It makes me nervous not having one, especially with my basement shop. Do you have one? Which one and where did you get it? recommendations? comments... duckkisser Posted August 26, 2011 Report Share Posted August 26, 2011 i have a metal cabinet on wheels that i just push into a solid brick room where we store unused tools/files/ect no electricity or fire starting agents. my hope that if a fire does happen that it will not blow up since it is seperated from all the wood/dust/electricity. duckkisser Posted August 27, 2011 Report Share Posted August 27, 2011 oh and i forgot to mention that i use a safe at work to put my personal chemicals in since it can cause problems if some people find out i have this stuff. the working have been taken out but the solid metal shell is still good and it is out of the way. dwacker Posted August 30, 2011 Report Share Posted August 30, 2011 My shop had a 4 drawer old metal military file cabinet with Pasload charges, concrete nailer charges and a few gallons of acetone.
