jab73180
So i got my woodcraft magazine in the mail today and in the new products section, there were a bunch of veritas hand tools listed. Is this new??? If its not new, how long have they been doing it like this.
nateswoodworks
I thin that is something relatively new, I think I would have remembered seeing that. I wonder how that works with Lee Valley? Nate
woodhack
Woodcraft lost Lie-Neilsen last year so they went north of the border and tapped into LV. Just speculating here.
nateswoodworks
Another great comment. With Woodcraft loosing Lie Nielson if you have a LN and want a Pinnacal iron or chipbreaker they have many of them marked down (as of about a week ago) Nate
mikem
I believe this is fairly new as well. I did recently by a veritas dovetail saw from Woodcraft. It was nice not paying shipping. I believe they had the MKII honing jig previously, but the saws and dovetail gauges I believe are fairly recent additions.
mikepdarr
Last time I was in Woodcraft in Jacksonville(couple weeks ago) they had the Veritas dual marking gauge hanging up.
CessnaPilotBarry
Remember, many (most?) Woodcraft stores are independent franchises. My local store has lots of stuff not in the catalog, including assorted Veritas items. The same store had LN before the chain carried it, and still carries it after the chain dropped the brand. nateswoodworks
I guess I never knew that. while traveling through Madison Wi. I got my MKII at a Woodcraft a few years ago but it was in a special room that seemed like it was just set up for specials, I thought it was a sample that they had received or something like that. Learn something new all the time, Nate
