mds2
I made one of these board/nail things today out of a 2x6 scrap. Then I went to my parents for dinner and showed it to my grandfather, he looked it over for a minute then called me a smartass. I only left it in the vice for about 30 minutes. Eric.
Roy Underhill did that trick on the "Wood and Water" episode. He also put an arrow through a glass Coke bottle. Then he laughed and called it stupid. That guy kills me. http://www.iptv.org/...2906_wood_water
rmac
I only left it in the vice for about 30 minutes. Here's a timesaving hint that will cut that 30 minutes down to about three. Instead of putting the (brown) workpiece in the (red) vise by itself, stick a (green) piece of scrap wood between the vise jaw and the part of the workpiece that you are going to squish. The picture shows the view looking down from above the vise. Then you can drill through the scrap, insert the nail (don't forget!), remove the whole thing from the vise, and get on with your day. -- Russ
