Nick2cd
A buddy of mine recently bought a practice. i want to make him a few clip boards as a "practice warming" gift. they will be used by patients to fill out medical history forms and such so i would like them to look nice. im having some trouble finding some decent hardware though. the best i've found was at rockler but i wasn't very impressed. anyone have any other sources for this? Rick LoDico
I got some from Lee Valley once. http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.aspx?p=58745&cat=1,250,43298
rmac
The clips on the $1.99 clipboards at Staples and OfficeMax are actually pretty decent. I've just been buying those for the hardware and throwing the boards themselves in the scrap pile. -- Russ

rmac
so you just drill out the rivet and replace with a short nut/bolt? That's right. The bolts are countersunk on the back. I found the fancy acorn nuts at an Ace hardware store. -- Russ
Southwood
I do the same as rmac. Just buy a board with good hardware and use it.
