What can I do to this bar to "jazz" it up?

I'm adding the curve on the top and I was planning on some simple paneling for the front and sides but now I'm not sure. Any thoughts on what I can do to this to make it look different? If I did do the panel(picture two) should I miter those corners or just make it a box?

The top will have the curve and I'm going to round the rest of the edges.

I would say panelling on the front (making it look like cabinets) and side. A foot rail is always a nice touch. Some type of corbels on the front, under the top, is a nice touch.
