I built a table and benches from it; however, I did stretch the benches and table to 8' long (I added an extra set of legs in the middle) and added two 2' benches for each end. My table now seats 10 people. http://www.calredwood.org/Project+Plans/Project+Plans.htm (scroll down to Sonoma Picnic Table) You can build it with little more than a circular saw (even doing the half laps on the legs) and a drill if you chose.
