Juicegoose
Wifey wanted an entertainment center that was styled like a buffett. Below are the results. Overall dimensions are 72",30", 20" deep. I finished it with General finishes antique white with a vandyke brown glaze and high performance clear coat. Top is Dark expresso. This was my first real project for the house. As a design note, I took the center section of the back panel, split it laterally down the middle and added magnets to each side. Additionally the lower section has a 3/4" offset to the rear so wires can exit the cabinet both to the top and bottom and not be seen doing so. I really liked how easy this made hooking things up. Thanks to everyone I bugged with questions and design ideas. The Tv on top of the Center channel speaker is a temp thing. It's become perfectly clear that the 40" TV is longer large enough. ChetlovesMer
Wow that is really nice! I think you did a great job. By the way, I also like your flooring. Looks like you have a beautiful home. Only one question: Why would you watch the Chargers this year? ... Tee Hee... I'm just kidding. As a Bear Fan I know what it's like to go through, shall we call them "Lean Years"?
TimV
Very nice work! That extra effort with the glaze really sets it off. Nice job!
Juicegoose
Thanks guys. The finish was a struggle mainly a learning process but it all worked out in the end. As for the chargers.. I can not decide who they play on Monday night football. If it were up to me it would be 24/7 Texans and LSU tigers
Beechwood Chip
Very nice! How did you do the beads on the stiles?
Juicegoose
I did the beaded moulded with a quick trip to my local Lowes. Sames goes for the rope moulding, heck all the moulding for that matter. It was much cheaper and quicker then doing it myself. I did however build up the moulding with a backer strip of wood to get the thickness I wanted.
nateswoodworks
Looks great, what was your favorite part of the project?
Juicegoose
Hmm good question. Obviously seeing the project complete was a great part but I also enjoyed the door construction. I used a new Freud raised panel bit set and really used my router table to it's ability so it was nice to see everything come together so nicely. The painting was probably my least favorite as I'm not typically a patient man and it takes patience.
