Nick2cd
One of my best friends recently purchased a dental practice. I made him these clipboards for his patients to fill out forms. i know, it's quite a simple project, but i think he'll really like it. the hardware came from Rockler except for the fasteners. i made the boards out of cedar so i didn't want to use the screws that came with the clips (i was fearful they would eventually pull out of the soft wood). i ordered some "Chicago screws" to use instead. I added a 1/4" roundover to each side and applied 3 coats of General Finishes arm-r-seal. sorry about the lame pictures. i need a nice lightbox setup. maybe my next project???

PeteJr
Excellent work Nick! I've never used Chicago screws so thanks for teaching me something new too!

Mister Pants
Very nice. I've used chicago screws with leather before and they're pretty nice to work with. I like the look of those enough that I may need to make some .
Zignot5
These are great! Would you mind posting your dimensions? These would be great in my office too!
Nick2cd
These are great! Would you mind posting your dimensions? These would be great in my office too! glad you like them. the boards are 13"x9"x3/8" thick 3/8" thickness is a guesstimate. honestly i just ran them through the thickness planer until they felt "right". i think one could easily get creative with light and dark contasting woods and also wide/narrow strips.
