Nick2cd
Every year around this time, i take my wife to a local resort called The Greenbrier. Just a few miles away is my favorite little town in WV. It's called lewisburg. It is known for its great galleries of local art and native crafts. I walked into this particular gallery and my jaw nearly hit the floor. The pictures I have here do the pieces NO justice. Enjoy
mrbutton
Simply amazing what some people can get out of a block of wood. Great pics.
jhl.verona
Simply amazing what some people can get out of a block of wood. Great pics. A block of wood, and an enormous amount of time. The first piece is very elegant - slender legs and curved rails give it a certain lightness. John

JMadson Custom Wood
How are they getting that rippled texture in the second and last pieces?
mikem
JMadson, That is the grain of the wood! Looks like possibly a tiger maple.
Nick2cd
How are they getting that rippled texture in the second and last pieces? That is all hand carved and it is smooth as silk
Mister Pants
Very nice, I like the first and third pieces best myself, but that's simply my own preference. All are beautiful.
