tdale51@yahoo.com Posted December 26, 2011 Report Share Posted December 26, 2011 With the current guild build I'm hearing an awful lot about split top ruobo (sp?) workbenches and I'm not sure I get the hype. Being a novice I do all my work on a cobbled together bench made from construction lumber. I tried googling the bench and basically found a history on the inventor. What I can't seem to wrap my brain around is why anyone would want a split top on their workbench. Does it close up to be used as a full length vise? Seems to me that having a split top would just take away from valuable real estate and give me yet one more way to drop tools and project parts on the floor. Thank you for any information.
