splinna
Hi all, I am looking for advise on expansion slides for a 4 legged table. The table is designed such that the legs and skirting/frame will be fixed and the top will expand open across it. In the closed the position the table top length is going to be about 68" and will expand to 100" with the addition of two leaves. In the fully open position I am expecting to have about a 26" overhang at each end. I have been looking at various options for slides and have come up with two that seem most applicable to what I am trying to do and am wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these two products or perhaps some other ideas about how to best handle this expansion. The two slides I am looking at mount to the inside of the frame: http://woodworker.com/aluminum-equalizer-table-slide-mssu-152-057.asp This one would just fit inside my frame exactly, and I would need to cut notches into the end frame/skirts - which is not a problem They will hardly be visible in the finished table when the top is in place. The other option is this one from Lee Valley that would mount in a similar manner but because of the footprint of the portion of the slide that attaches to the top, I would not have to notch the ends: http://www.leevalley.com/en/hardware/page.aspx?p=66505&cat=3,43586,43594&ap=1 Thoughts? Advice? Thanks in advance -Steve
